Diamondback Chess Club

Diamondback Chess was created in early 2019 by daughter father duo, Willow and John LeTard. Both are longtime chess players and tournament directors who wanted to provide New Mexicans more opportunities to play rated chess. Since then, they have organized and directed over 70 tournaments with 169 players and thousands of games. They are also both active in other local chess organizations and communities. Now Diamondback Chess has active players from ages 5 to 60+ with ratings from 101 to 2311. Diamondback is best known for our Monday Night chess tournaments, however we have also hosted several all-girls scholastic events, and longer weekend tournaments.
